Statistics is a branch of mathematics in which groups of measurements or observations are studied. The subject is divided into two general categories— descriptive statistics and inferential statistics . In descriptive statistics one deals with methods used to collect, organize and analyze numerical facts. On the whole, the textbook would be a very good book to use for an introduction to statistics class or elementary statistics, however I would recommend the authors adding an in-depth experimental design contents to Chapter 1. Secondly I would recommend the authors to add a table of content and an index to the textbook.
